IT Business Consultant – Software Tester

About the job
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive IT Consultant – Software Tester to join Forty2 and play a key role in delivering high-quality solutions within complex, fast-paced client environments across Swiss Romandie.
In this role, you will be responsible for validating system functionality, ensuring reliability, and collaborating closely with business and development teams in fast-paced project settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute manual and/or automated test cases based on business and functional requirements
- Analyze requirements and specifications to ensure completeness and testability
- Identify, document, and track defects using test management tools
- Perform functional, integration, regression, and system testing
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and collaborate with business stakeholders
- Contribute to test strategy, test planning, and quality documentation
- Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and best practices
- Work closely with Developers, Business Analysts, and Project Managers to ensure timely resolution of issues
Required Qualifications
- University degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Software Tester
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience is required
- Experience within the financial services industry (Banking or Insurance) is considered a strong advantage
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies
- Experience writing and executing structured test cases and test scenarios
- Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, HP ALM, Xray, TestRail)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Strong communication skills
- Fluency in French and English (mandatory), German and Italian are a plus
- Swiss residency or valid Swiss work permit required
- Availability to work on-site a minimum of 3 days per week
- Comfortable working in a consulting setting and adaptable to dynamic client environments
Required Skills
- Experience with automated testing tools (Tosca, Katalon, Selenium, Cypress)
- Knowledge of API testing (Postman, Bruno, Swagger)
- Capacity to analyze Java/.Net application logs
- Ability to work with databases (PL/SQL, MySQL, SQL Server)
- Capacity to analyze Java/.Net application logs
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum methodology
- AI Prompting experience
- ISTQB certification is a plus
